On Thursday, the 12th of April, the Austrian paper DIE PRESSE presented the new edition of the luxury real estate magazine Luxury Estate in the newly renovated Palais Sans-Souci in the 5th district. The guests (amongst them Arabella Kiesbauer, Reinhold Gmeinbauer, Sonja Klima and Peter Marschall) could have a look in the new edition while drinking selected wines, having an exquisite buffet and listening to the music of the Leroy Emmanuel Trio. The big demand for real estate as a secure investment continues in 2012. Although the capital market activity calmed down a little bit, the investors don‘t really seem to believe in this trend and still invest in real values. This results in increasing prices (even though a little more moderate than in the last 24 months) and in a hardly sufficient supply of first class real estate. Taxes of real estate property change in Austria

In the course of the budget tightening package in 2012 there are planned some important changes of the taxation of private property sale, which come into force with the 1st of April this year.
From that day the capital gain (the difference between purchase price and sales price) shall be assessed with 25%.
If the property is owned for more than 10 years, there is an inflationary compensation of 2% per year, which can reduce the capital gain by half. Continue reading →

There’s a growing demand for offices around the huge area of 100.000 square meters even now, and it will grow even more after completion.
